 Paul Oakenfold

Life must be hard if you're one of the world's most influential DJs. Imagine having to fly around the world constantly to play gigs in weird and wonderful places like Bombay and Beijing, Rio de Janeiro and even Alaska.

Well, it seems that after a sensational night playing alongside one of the seventh wonders of the world, the Great Wall of Chine, Oakenfold thought it was time the monkey strapped on a new pair of shades and cracked off a fresh mix album.

Two CDs, twenty tracks, but what's it like? Well, we kick off with Nugen's 'Darksides', a slow burning trance track, classic Oakenfold territory which gently enters our earlobes and prepares us for the journey ahead. During our flight you might find it interesting to note Leama's Dream Mix of 'Requiem For a Dream', a nice blissed-out tune before we head for more turbulent Unkle mix of Ian Brown's 'Fear', his own remix of Layo & Bushwacka's 'Deep South' and the Junkie XL mix of Infusion 'Legacy'.

The pop mixes of Madonna's 'Hollywood' and Bjork's 'Pagan Poetry' also get a good licking into shape although they might leave some fans wondering just where Oakenfold's musical direction is heading, especially when it gets to Justin Timberlake's 'Cry Me A River'. Pretty soon you might be wondering if you should be dancin' or prancin'. Light refreshments anybody?
