At 25 years
of age, Mike Kelly is already known for his ability to work a crowd
into a sweaty mess. Mike is a fan of deck-trickery, & all things
energetic. Busy mixing, cutting & scratching feature prominently
in his sets.
Influenced
by DJs like Mark Farina, Alan Thompson, and John Digweed, Mike has
preserved his passion for innovative music, whilst developing a
love for emotional musical landscapes & the 'silk' factor.
Mike is the
youngest local DJ to play at Sydney's Mardi Gras party. This year
was his third consecutive main room performance. His career highlight
was a mashed funky-tribal-breaks-progressive performance at the
10th anniversary of Inquisition.
Nationally
he's played Tribal Fruits NYE 2001 in Lismore, Throb in Melbourne
2003-2004.
Internationally,
Mike played main room at Discotec @ The End (alongside Femi B),
Saturday at Heaven's Star Bar (with Jon Dennis) in 2003, and Playtime
@ Three Club & Fingerlickin's Bar Vinyl (both June 2003 and
2004). Mike also combined with DJ Calvin Wong for an 8hr back to
back in Berlin @ GMF, 2004.
Mike's local
highlights in 2004 have been closing the Hordern at Sydney Mardi
Gras and opening Inquisition's main room.

Shift Club: bimonthly Indulgence leather events at Sydney's premier
gay venue.
+The Civic: Every Saturday night Mike plays vocal disco/funky house,
and breaks
+Stonewall: Mike's first residency (still going after 4yrs). MK
plays biweekly Fridays and weekly on Sundays Spin.
+Mars Lounge: Sexy, funky house at the NY-styled exclusive nightspot,
Fridays.
+East Village: Funky rooftop bar East Village hosts a smooth Sunday
tea dance session, where Mike has been recruited as a monthly guest
(reopening September)
+Throb: Mike has been guest DJ at the Peel's night every six months
since 2003
+Manacle: Sydney's premiere leather bar playing fortnightly Monday
morning recovery with underground sexed-up funk and dirtier.
+Lord Roberts: Mike plays once a month a new Sunday afternoon sassy/cool
sounds for a laid back Sydney afternoon
