(aka The Fresh Prince) a massive worldwide following and unbeatable
reputation. It also produced the long term partnership that earned
them the kind of global notoriety that most artists yearn for. Ten
million records later and swamped with accolades including multiple
Grammy’s, MTV and Soul Train awards, DJ Jazzy Jeff became one
of the early American Hip Hop celebrities.
As a producer, Jazzy Jeff has spent much time in the studios of
A Touch of Jazz. As CEO and founder of the label, Jeff has filled
the role as Philadelphia’s resident creative and professional
inspiration for new talent in Hip-Hop, Jazz, Soul and R&B. Having
worked with the likes of Lil Kim, Musiq Soulchild, Little Louie
Vega and many notable others, it is his production work with protégé,
exquisite talent, Jill Scott and his own artist albums, the latest
being “The Magnificent”, that have bestowed on him the
adoration and credibility from reputable music circles and critics.
DJ Jazzy Jeff
is one of the best scratchers and turntable artists to grace the
music industry. He is widely regarded as the inventor of the 'transformer'
scratch - Cash Money named it, and Jazzy Jeff was the first DJ to
put it on wax. He also created the chirp scratch, which can be found
on “The Magnificent” album and "Getting Jiggy Wit
It." In addition to this, Jeff is renowned as the first corporately
sponsored DJ / Celebrity and designer of the first mixer to be made
specifically for the scratch DJ, the modern classic – the Gemini
2200, or Jazzy Jeff Signature series.
