In the world
of dance music production, Jay-J has forged the reputation as the
producer with the "midas touch" with his signature 'sexy,
soulful, dance floor driven' style; a blend of elements from funk,
soul and disco combined with sultry vocals.
Jay-J has collaborated
with many of the dance industry's top icons including Miguel Migs,
Kaskade, Marques Wyatt, Halo, Julius Papp, Mark Grant and Chris
Lum at Moulton Studios, one of the most respected production houses
in dance music. These sessions have not only produced some of the
biggest releases in the contemporary dance world but also garnered
the attention from fans and music professionals around the world.
In 2003, Jay-J
received a GRAMMY® nomination for his re-mix of Jill Scott’s
"He Loves Me". He has also re-mixed the music of other
notable artists including Alicia Keys, David Gray, Lil' Kim, Koffee
Brown and Donnie McClurkin.
Jay-J's infectious
music then became adopted by music industry professionals and manufacturers
as the perfect template to showcase the hottest and newest advancements
in technology. Jay-J's "Make My Heart" featuring Latrice
Barnett became the soundtrack for Digidesign’s Icon Integrated
Console which debuted in 2004. Apple and Digidesign's collaboration
launched by featuring Jay-J's music as the theme for their worldwide
campaign and tour titled Motivated By Music. This tour spanned various
countries including Brazil, Mexico, Italy and the U.S.. Sony Oxford
featured Jay-J's music as the master template to demonstrate the
sonic versatility and power of their software plug-ins. Apple then
enlisted Jay-J to create two original compositions for Remix Jampack
for GarageBand that is currently standard software included on all
Apple® computers.
Jay-J currently
produces syndicated DJ mix shows for XM Satellite, Music Choice,
92.7 FM (San Francisco), KBIG 104 Thump Radio (Los Angeles) and
Defected Radio (UK). In addition, he creates over 50 special mix
shows per year for additional radio stations in various markets.
When Jay-J
is not creating music in the studio, he performs live around the
world at appearances including La Terrazza (Spain), Pacha (Ibiza),
Zouk (Singapore), Home (Australia) and Ministry of Sound (UK). His
music is also heard while he promotes his newest releases on tour
for labels such as Defected and Naked Music.
As both a DJ
and Producer, Jay-J has consistently generated quality like very
few can. His peers consider him one of the most influential, respected
and prolific individuals in the industry. Now, with new digs in
