 Paul Goodyear

The journey began when a twelve year old Paul bought his first disco record, “You make me feel (Mighty Real)” by the late disco sensation Sylvester. He had found the “love” in his life…..It was music.

Paul’s first DJ gig was in 1985 and since then he has played around the world, from New York and San Francisco to Singapore, Hong Kong and all over Australia.

Always at the forefront of what is hot his favourite residencies include The Flinders Hotel 1985-1995,The Midnight Shift from 1986-1995, The Peel in Melbourne 1995-1997, and ARQ Sydney every Saturday night 1999-2004.

He has played alongside everyone from Peter Rauhofer, to Tony Moran, to Boy George and Wayne G to name but a few. Career highlights include numerous Mardi Gras parties, the prestigious Pines Party on Fire Island New York 2002, San Francisco Gay Pride, The Opening Ceremony Athletes Parade and Closing Party Gay Games 2002, Redraw and Winterdaze Melbourne, Harbour Party 2003 and numerous other parties interstate and in Sydney. This year Paul will again close the Sydney Mardi Gras party in the main room (RHI).

On the production front, Paul has been remixing since 1991 and has had his work appear on overseas labels such as Direct Hit, Star 69 and Centaur Records. He has worked extensively with local labels such as BMG and Sony. From 1994-1997 Paul ran his own DJ remix label – Ace with good friend James Fraser. Artists Paul has worked with include Whitney Houston, Deborah Cooper, and Toni Braxton to name but a few. Not content to remix other people’s songs Paul has actively produced his own selection of dancefloor hits. He has collaborated with Melbourne’s Nathan G on a total of 7 tracks under the name of Lifestylus. Lately he has been working on his own self-titled album and has co-written and produced 5 tracks for the up-coming Love Tattoo album with Steven Allkins.
