Mike Stock
is one of the most successful songwriters and record producers in
pop music history.
As one third
of the legendary Stock, Aitken & Waterman production team he
was responsible for over a hundred top 40 records including 13 number
ones with a dazzling array of artists.
Mike wrote & produced the songs that defined the sound of the
late 80's and early 90's.
Another 3 number
ones followed with his partnership with Matt Aitken in the mid to
late nineties and now, striking out on his own, that success looks
set to continue.
Mike has not only launched the carreers of dozens of artists including
Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Jason Donovan, Mel & Kim, Dead or
Alive, he's also worked his magic for the likes of Donna Summer,
Cliff Richard, even Paul McCartney, Debbie Harry and Elton John.
April 2003
saw the launch of Mike's new label BETTER THE DEVIL RECORDS which
he formed with businessman Bob Patmore.
Their plan
was to launch a new boutique record label with a clear and simple
mission - to provide music with commercial appeal and high production
values.
As Creative
Director of Better The Devil Records, Mike takes full responsibility
for the artistic output of the label with a clear edict:
"whether
we release one-off records or develop album projects, our aim is
simply to release music that the public want to hear."
