 Ingela Borgefjord

Born in 1976 and raised in the beautiful countryside of Sweden, DJ Ingela has become a House and US Garage DJ recognized on an International level. Due to an interest in journalism she began broadcasting radio at age 15 but soon understood that it was the music that attracted her the most. Aged 18 she went to Japan and ended up exploring a music scene not like anything she came across in Sweden.

Music is a language of it's own - but the love of HOUSE music actually made me learn Japanese, says Ingela, whose first Japanese phrase was "Sumimasen, kono recodo ga kikitai desu" meaning "Excuse me, I'd like to listen to this record".

Today she DJ's at various venues in Sweden, her soulful mixture of house and US garage have been heard on clubs such as "Hands On Wax", "Club Massive", "Monday Bar", "Hard Time", "Blå", "Deep Inside" and "Favorit".

She also host her weekly radio show dedicated to house & garage only at "Radio Eskilstuna" where she features mixes from talented DJs from across the globe alongside her own selections.

During 2001 her DJ mixes were featured on "P3 Klubb" at Swedish National Radio (twice), "The Clinic" at Estonian National Radio, "The Loft Society" at Rhythm FM (Sydney, Brisbane & the Gold Coast), "House Proud" and "The Soul Pressure Sessions" at Cool FM (Portugal) and "The Strange World Of 12inches" at Meyrin FM (Geneva, Switzerland) as well as on several internet-radio stations and websites worldwide.

Last year she made a guest appearance at London's "Life FM" and her
DJ mixes continued to get massive support with airplay on for example Gene Kings show Vibes'n'Vinyl on CKLN 88,1 FM (Toronto), "the Northen Soul Sessions" hosted by Phat Phil Cooper on Zumo FM 107.6 (Ibiza), Espen Wiiks show on Radio One (Norway), "Mix on Mix" with Neil Fearnley on Mix 96 (UK) as well "P3 Klubb" at Swedish National Radio (twice).

Ingela has just started working on a new project, HandsOnWax.com - your future house and garage community with contributors from across the world.

Ingela Borgefjord from the Swedish House Crew will dj alongside Family resident djs. Saturday April 5, Seven Nightclub.
